Road work activity in WBOP

Motorists travelling in and around the Western Bay of Plenty are being warned to be prepared to encounter road works in the region.

Below is a list of the road work activity planned for the area from April 13 through until April 20.

All works are weather dependant.

NZTA STATE HIGHWAYS:

SH2, Arden Cottage Curve Realignment:

(adjacent to Athenree Rd intersection)

Anticipated completion: May 2014

Speed restriction through the site

SH 2, Te Puna Stream Bridge:

Water main replacement

Speed restrictions in place

Periodic Stop/Go between 9am and 4pm

Anticipated completion: 20 April

SH 2, Te Puke: Kaituna Bridge:

Bridge repair work

30k/hr speed restriction through the site

Restrictions on trucks lifted and manual and traffic light control removed.

Anticipated Completion: Late May

SH 29, Ruahihi to Soldiers Road:

Shoulder widening, sealing and wire rope barrier installation.

Shoulder closures with Contra Flow

Speed restrictions as required

Minor delays possible

Anticipated completion: 24 April

SH 29, Ngamuwahine Road 1 km length:

Seal widening, rehabilitation and wire rope barrier installation

30k/hr speed restrictions

Stop/Go as required

SH36, South between Taumata Road and Mangatoi Rd:

1km length of Seal Widening

Stop/Go traffic control

30k/hr speed restrictions
