Adjournment in drug accused case

A Welcome Bay labourer and a former bank teller will remain on bail after having their case adjourned until January 23.

Isaac Kilby, 27, and Troy Kakau, 31, are facing multiple drug charges including supplying methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of equipment used to make methamphetamine.

The pair were remanded on bail for a callover next month when they appeared in Tauranga District Court on Wednesday.

Both Kilby and Kakau were arrested following a police raid on properties in Arataki and Welcome Bay in November, 2012.

More than 50 police staff from Tauranga and Rotorua, firefighters and hazardous materials teams swooped on the two Tauranga suburbs on November 28, executing search warrants at three properties suspected of being P-labs.

Arataki woman Jessica Caulfield was also arrested and charged with having equipment/material with intent, procuring and possessing methamphetamine and producing/manufacturing methamphetamine/amphetamine.

She pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to to six months home detention and ordered to complete 150 hours' community when she appeared in Tauranga District Court on November 29.
