Drifter airlifted from Kinloch

Posted at 12:09pm Tuesday 29 Jan, 2013

A Taupo man had to be airlifted with a suspected fractured femur after a drifting accident last night.

The Taupo Greenlea rescue helicopter was called to Kinloch, near Taupo, to a 23-year-old man who was injured while riding a drift trike.

The man was treated by St John Ambulance paramedics and Kinloch residents before being stretched into the helicopter after his trike hit a light bollard on the roadside of a new subdivision in Kinloch.

He was flown to Rotorua Hospital for treatment.
