Motorcyclist killed near Reefton

West Coast Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash on SH7, between Reefton and Blacks Point.

The accident happened about 12.45pm and involved a collision between a car and a motorcycle on a sweeping bend.

The male rider of the motorcycle was killed in the crash.

The sole occupant of the car, a Reefton local, was unharmed.

Serious Crash Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash and police are seeking to contact next of kin.

SH7 is closed between Reefton and Blacks Point.

Police hope to have the road cleared by about 3pm.
