Cameron Road firm Holland Beckett is a finalist in all six nominated categories - three awards in the Premium Awards category including, Midsized Law Firm of the Year, Regional/Suburban Law Firm of the Year and Legal Personnel Employer of Choice.

In the Specialist Awards category Holland Beckett has been nominated for corporate and commercial law, resource management and environment law and family law.

The NZ Law Awards celebrate and reward excellence in client service by law firms as judged by their clients.

Four Tauranga law firms Holland Beckett, Cooney Lees Morgan, Ronayne Hollister-Jones Lellman and Mackenzie Elvin were nominated in the awards.

Holland Beckett has also been nominated in the College of Law Community Service in Law Group category.

For this award, Holland Beckett had to make a submission highlighting its professional work and community service related initiatives the firm has undertaken in the last 12 months.

Holland Beckett practice manager Sharline Fitzgerald says the nominations are quite a big privilege for the firm, giving them client acknowledgement.

'We have received amazing support from our clients.”

'The fact that we have made the finals in so many categories demonstrates that we have high levels of expertise across a wide range of specialist areas.”

'With nationally recognised legal advice in Tauranga there is no need for clients to go to the main centres for quality/specialist legal advice.”

Senior solicitor at Holland Beckett Ben Eagleson nominated the firm for the Employer of Choice Award.

'We are really delighted to be a finalist in the Employer of Choice award - we have such a great team and it is so nice to know that they enjoy working at Holland Beckett,” says Sharline.

The firm is a nine partner law practice providing full legal services and is celebrating 75 years in Tauranga this year.

Recent graduate lawyer at Holland Beckett 22-year-old Stephanie Clarke says she will continue to provide the good work ethic in which the firm has displayed for 75 years.

Stephanie says with the firm's willingness to invest time and money into the people who make the firm, Holland Beckett deserves to be a finalist in the Employer of Choice Award.

'I can definitely see why they have been nominated. It's just such a great place to work for. There is just a really good culture within the firm.”

'They have a really good work, life balance. They not only support out of office activities but they encourage you to do so. They are willing to invest time and money into staff events and staff training.”

From expecting to be shoved in the corner and standing at the photocopier all day, to writing emails and participating in client interviews, Stephanie says the firm has been supportive in developing her as a professional.

'It's been a lot to take in but I have been supported really well at Holland Beckett. They are just really supportive of developing me as a legal professional.”
