UPDATED 12.30PM: The woman who died in a head-on smash in the Coromandel at the weekend is Beverly Bremner.
The 49-year-old woman from Whitianga died at the scene of the crash on State Highway 5 near Tairua on Sunday.

The Coromandel woman was travelling towards Tairua when police say the Nissan she was driving crossed the centre line on the Kopu-Hikuai Road crashing into a an oncoming Toyota landcruiser at 3.30pm.
The three occupants of the Toyota landcruiser suffered serious injuries and were flown to Auckland Hospital.
The woman is believed to have recently returned from Australia.
The section of State Highway 25 was closed for two hours while emergency services cleared the scene.
Police and emergency services also attended two separate crashes in Whitianga during the weekend.
On Friday September 14, three people were flown to Auckland Hospital with serious injuries after their vehicle carrying six occupants crashed into another car.
Another crash occurred in the same place with occupants of the car suffering minor injuries.
