Police have released the name of the five-year-old boy who was killed after being hit by a school bus at Hector on the West Coast on Tuesday afternoon.
He was Mahuri Bettjeman-Manawatu of Hector.
Mahuri was a student at Granity School.
Police are working with the school to provide support to the other pupils, along with Victim Support staff.
There were a number of children on the bus at the time of the accident.
Police are investigating the circumstance of the accident.
