Stabbing in Welcome Bay

A man is in Tauranga Hospital with stab wounds to the stomach following an incident at a property in Welcome Bay this afternoon.

Three police cars and a St John Ambulance were called to a house in Mamaku Rise at the top of Waitaha Road at about 4.45pm where one man was found with stab wounds.


A man was found with stab wounds to his stomach at a property in Welcome Bay.

Acting Sergeant Scott Merritt says one man has been taken to Tauranga Hospital with stab wounds to his abdomen.

He says police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

Scott says St John Ambulance paramedics transported the man from the house to the waiting ambulance, at which time they say he was alert and talking.

The man is currently in Tauranga Hospital.

I often wonder, could we hear follow up to these stories please? How is this man now?
