Mount woman's death not suspicious

The unexpected death of a 47-year-old Mount Maunganui woman last Thursday evening is not considered suspicious and the death has been referred to the coroner.

Sergeant Phil Gillbanks of the Mount Maunganui Police says family is still being informed, but they are satisfied the woman died of natural causes.


Police investigate the death of a 47-year-old woman in Mount Maunganui.

The woman’s body was discovered at a house in Ascot Road on Friday morning. It is believed she died during the night of Thursday, August 16.

Emergency services were called to an Ascot Rd address shortly after the discovery of the body on Friday morning.

The death has now been referred to the coroner who is awaiting toxicology reports.
