Tough words Judge but what makes you think he will listen to a word you say? Just do your job man and sentence him to as much time in jail as you are allowed to. If he’d threatened your wife with a knife I’m sure you would have.

This offender has been appearing before the courts/youth offending, since he was 11 years old, and the courageous Mother "thinks she can put up with him at home" He has had serious offending, with threatening to kill..
