Police have resumed their search for a 44-year-old man who disappeared from his home in the North Shore suburb of Torbay.

Jason Mark Overend has not been sighted since he left his home at 9.45pm on Monday, July 2 2012. Police have growing concerns for his welfare and well-being.

Police were alerted to his disappearance yesterday and a search began at 3.00pm. The search was later called off for the night at 9.30pm.

About 20 search and rescue personnel are at parks, reserves, and coastal areas in the Torbay and Long Bay suburbs.

The shoreline at the local beaches is being included when the high tide begins to recede from about 10am.

Police helicopter Eagle has carried out an air search overnight and this morning. The police launch Deodar completed a coastline sweep earlier this morning.

Police urge any member of the public who has information on the whereabouts of Jason Mark Overend to call them immediately on 09 477 5000.
