A Tauranga community has raised $950 to assist the family of 10-year-old Logan Alison, who is undergoing treatment for a rare form of bone cancer at Starship Hospital.
Logan was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma after receiving treatment for a broken leg sustained playing for Papamoa Football Club recently.
Logan Alison was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma earlier this year.
He will now spend the next year receiving chemotherapy treatment at Starship Hospital.
Leaha Wykes organised the raffle to raise petrol money for Logan’s family’s many trips to Auckland and sold tickets at the Papamoa Football Club grounds on the weekend.
“The Papamoa Football Club has been great. The club has got in behind the fundraising initiative and are giving lots of support to Logan and his family.
“I am also looking at organising a charity auction in about six-eight weeks, so if anyone has anything they think can be auctioned off please feel free to come and see me.”
People who want to donate items for the auction can drop them off at Dominion Salt in Mount Maunganui.
An appeal Facebook page has also been set up for Logan and people wanting to view can do so at https://www.facebook.com/LoganAlisonAppeal
