Money, power and greed symbols

Prime Minister Key tells us he is here for the good of the country and yet he refuses to have anything to do with altering the retirement age for the pension, despite the fact that it is a growing problem, that we are all aware of.
But then why should he?
After all, we never hold any politician or bureaucrat responsible for their actions, let alone their mistakes and when one thinks it through further, it becomes glaringly obvious that by the time it is a real necessity, he will be well out of the way of any backlash.
It is becoming more and more a corporate driven world with chief executive officers in charge and he has taken the HHCEO title (Head Honcho) over very well. So the rest of you just stay buttoned up and all will be well, as the days of statesmen like Sir Keith Holyoake, are long gone.
And just in case you have any doubts, money, power and greed are the new symbols, so get used to it.

R McGuinness, Tauranga.

You are sure right about the current crop of policians but I wouldn’t hold Holyoake up as a shining light -more of a pompus self centered creature.
