Desert Road: Snow warning issued

Motorists are being advised to drive with caution as a snow warning has been issued for State Highway 1/Desert Road.

The MetService is predicting snow showers to develop late this afternoon, with 2 to 4cm of snow expected to accumulate on the higher parts of the road.

Showers are expected to clear early Saturday morning.

The Desert Road was closed earlier this week due to snow, and snow warnings have been issued at least once a week since the start of June.
