A triple fatality crash has closed Gordonton Road, northeast of Hamilton, between Boyd and Borman roads, as police and emergency services deal with the crash.
Three people are believed to have died at the scene and a fourth occupant of the only car involved has been taken to Waikato hospital in a critical condition.
Serious crash officers are still on the way to the scene and the road is expected to be closed for some time.
Diversions are in place but motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.
Police say further information will be release when more details are available.
