Police may spend another two days at the scene of Mykono’s Pizza and Pasta in Paeroa as they continue to search for clues in the suspicious death of Jordan Voudouris.

The 55-year-old’s body was found on the driveway behind the takeaway store at about 6am on Monday.

CCTV footage of the attempted armed robbery of Park Road Dairy in Katikati.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Whitehead says the scene examination is continuing and may take another two days to complete.

“The investigation team are still working to profile and background Mr Jordan Voudouris to gain an understanding of his habits and routines.

“Friends, employees and patrons have been able to assist us with this.”

He says the Paeroa community has been helpful in assisting police with the investigation.

“Police are also working with local businesses that were open on Sunday night to identify people who were out and about and who may be able to help reconstruct activity in the town that night.

“The investigation team encourage anyone who may have information to contact us.”

Police will not release the details of Mr Voudouris’s injuries but are looking into the possible link between the death and two attempted armed robberies in Katikati and Waihi the same morning.

At about 6am three men assaulted a female at the Waihi Mobil service station in an attempted robbery.

A short time later two men attempted to rob the Park Road Dairy in Katikati armed with a handgun and hammer.

Police particularly want to speak to anyone who was around the Paeroa town centre between 10pm on the evening of Sunday, June 17, and 6am on Monday, June 18.

People are being asked to contact the Paeroa Police Station on 07 862 8744.

Alternatively information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Since when does disgusting have a C in it? Can’t be a typo as it’s nowear near it on the quayboard. You may be proofen correct in your assumption that the offender(s) are "young", particularlarly if it is these "young" looking people that are in the pigture above. Statistically most crime is cammitted by young peoples but hopefully the cops will keep an open mind. Nothing rong with stareotyping. Most old women can’t spell as when they went to skool they just lurned baking.

The person, no matter how old, should be sent to jail for life for this dreadful killing. No doubt, it will be a young person who has done this and they will get the norm home detention or similar. Our legal system is discusting. No matter what age, if they kill someone they should be locked up for life. Send the message New Zealand.
