A man who sparked an armed offenders callout in Te Puna remains behind bars until his next court appearance on July 3.
Tauranga man Vaughn Wilson, 28, made a brief appearance in the Tauranga District Court on Tuesday after being arrested for failing to appear in court on unrelated firearms charges.

Armed police stopped traffic during the operation on Monday.
Armed Offenders Squad was called to Snodgrass Road in Te Puna at about 1pm on Monday where they cordoned off a section of the road at its intersection with Borell Road while they searched for Wilson.
He was later arrested at a Snodgrass Road residence.
Inspector Karl Wright St-Clair says the AOS used as a result of a risk assessment being carried out relating to apprehending the man.
