The brigade deal with a wide range of emergencies from fires, the carrying out of extractions and rescues and containing hazardous substance spills, to attending motor vehicle accidents.

Fire fighters also have an important community-focused role in educating people on the dangers of fire.

Recently, the Greerton Brigade held a kitchen fire demonstration at Selwyn Ridge School, where it showed students just how easily a kitchen fire can get out of hand.

The brigade is calling for new recruits to help them continue the service they provide for the community.
