A bus coming out of the Bennetts Motor Inn on 15th Ave created huge traffic queues when it became stuck, blocking one and half lanes during rush hour traffic on Friday night.

The bus driver told SunLive he was coming out of the Inn just before 5pm when the back of the bus got stuck on the incline and his rear wheels spun.

“It would have been faster to go over the bridge and go through the Mount,” says a motorist who got stuck in traffic.

The man, who asked not to be named, says he had seen buses stuck on Turret Road before when they came out of the motel but never on 15th Ave.

“It was chaos.”

Police assisted with traffic control and tried to clear the backlog of traffic by detouring motorists down Burrows Street and back onto Turret Road.

Traffic was delayed for more than an hour until the bus was removed from the road.

YES penguin. I have done it myself to. The coach is likely on air-bag suspension - lower the front bags (5 minutes) * Let air out of the front tyres this would raise the rear end. but then again they may of tried all these things. YES i made a spelling mistake angel angle. that 2nd photo was NOT on this article when i posted my comment. I think the back of the bus caught on the curb. that drive way is not very wide......

Angels or angles

"whatsinaname" if you look carefully at the photograph you will notice that the bus was coming out on an angel (angle). I am sure the driver had some less-than-angelic thoughts knowing how he/she affected traffic. However, these things do happen - I know as I have done it myself. But there were no angels there to help me!

Angels?

I don’t think the angels were smiling at him. How many angels does it take to carry a bus? (Come out on an angel)

The bus didnt stall.it got stuck on the incline. and the driver should no that the overhang of the bus would catch on the incline coming out of the drive. You should NOT come straight out of a drive way with a long over hang like that. Come out on an angel. . just like if you got spoilers etc on the front of your car. approach humps or curbs on an angel........ oh well embarrasing moment for the driver lol
