Ohauiti Road will be closed this afternoon while a large, split tree teetering above 11Kv power lines is removed.
Anne Michel, from InRoads, the roading managers for the Western Bay of Plenty, says the tree is leaning precariously across the road about 7.5km from the turn-off at the bottom, several hundred metres passed the single lane bridge.

A crane has been dispatched and is likely to reach the site at about 1.30pm.
The road is likely to be closed for about three hours and updates will be forthcoming.
