A 24-year-old Mt Wellington man will appear in the Auckland District Court this morning charged with interfering with human remains.

The man was arrested last night by Police working on Operation Tyson, the investigation into the incomplete skeletal remains found in a derelict Mt Wellington house in Barrack Rd on September 30, 2011.

While Police believe they know the identity of the deceased, they are in the process of notifying his next of kin of the overnight developments.

However, Police can confirm the deceased had not been reported missing.

It’s believed he died in 2010.
