Results of a post-mortem examination carried out on the body of an elderly Hamilton rest-home resident who died in Waikato Hospital overnight have indicated his death was not suspicious.

Detective Senior Sergeant Karl Thornton of the Hamilton CIB says the examination, which was carried out in Auckland this morning, indicated the man died of natural causes.

“This man’s death has been reported to the Coroner who will determine the cause of the 81-year-old’s death.”
