NZ Police announce CIO appointment

New Zealand Police have appointed Stephen Crombie as Chief Information Officer.

Acting Deputy Commissioner Resource Management, Grant Nicholls, says Mr Crombie has extensive public and private sector experience in information and communications technology and service delivery.

His previous positions have included Executive Director, Government Service Transformation Programme and Deputy Chief Executive, Knowledge Information, Research and Technology at the Department of Internal Affairs. 

He was also Inaugural General Manager of Government Technology Services at the State Services Commission.

Mr Crombie will take up his appointment in late July.
