Tauranga’s Jenny Craig staff are channelling one of Australia’s famous performers today dressing in Dame Edna attire to promote the comedian’s efforts to lose weight.
The staff are joining Jenny Craig branches nationwide dressing up as Dame Edna – the weight loss company’s current iconic celebrity.

Jenny Craig Tauranga staff Hayley, Wanda, Ruth, Dana and Jacky.
Tauranga’s centre leader Jackie Jobson says the costumes are hilarious.
“It’s horrific, believe me.”
Jackie says staff wanted to generate some hype to help promote Dame Edna with her weight loss goal.

Jackie says they have gone “all out”.
“We’re consulting our clients and everything.
“We’ve got some coming in for the first time, so they’ll go ‘what’.”
Originally conceived in 1956, Dame Edna Everage is one of the longest-lived comedic characterisations ever made.
