Police are investigating a crash on Poike Road where a car hit a lamp post before crashing into a tree on a person’s property.
The car, driven by an elderly man, was travelling down from Ohauiti Road when it hit a lamp post before colliding with a tree at about 11.40am today.
The car took out a tree on a property in Poike Road.
The car then collided with a tree at about 11.40am.
Constable Ian Saddler says the man was coming down Poike Road when he lost control on a bend and hit a lamp post.
“He has taken out the lamp post and hit a tree.
“We are still looking into the exact cause of the incident.”
St John Ambulance paramedics were called to the accident.
The driver was uninjured.
