Milk thief pleads guilty

A Tauranga man who stole more than four tonnes of milk has pleaded guilty in Tauranga District Court.

Peter Mark Gillard, 51, has pleaded guilty to three charges of burglary and one charge of theft in relation to the theft of more than 2000 two-litre bottles of milk from a distribution depot in Mount Maunganui.

He appeared in Tauranga District Court on Monday and was remanded on bail for sentencing on June 11.

More than 4000 litres of Cow and Gate and Meadowfresh milk and other dairy products were taken from a storage and distribution depot in Totara Street on three separate occasions in a period of seven days between March and early April.
