Worker killed at Port Nelson

A 33-year-old Nelson man is dead following an accident at Port Nelson this morning.

Police were called to the scene about 10.20am after the man fell from the deck, where he was working, through an open hold.

His colleagues and the ship’s captain were immediately aware of the accident and went to his aid.

Police and the man’s colleagues performed CPR for about 40 minutes but the man died at the scene.

The man was working on the MJ Souza at Talley’s wharf.
