Tomorrow night is the last night of the Baypark Speedway season with a “spectacular” line up of sprint and saloon cars in the Bay of Plenty championships.
The Flamecrusher Midget Invitational this Saturday will feature the best in sprint and saloon cars and the Flamecrusher Top Half Midget Series from 6.30pm at Baypark in Mount Maunganui.

The country’s two top saloon car drivers – Geoff Baron and Brett McClymont – will also be in attendance.
Speedway manager Roger Bailey says the evening will be one to remember.
“There are two highlights this meeting, the midget invitation is one – they’re a real draw card – 30 midgets running round the track is pretty spectacular.
“Midgets are the second fastest class of speedway vehicle that runs on this track.”
Midget-wise, drivers to look out for include 88A Brad Mosen, New Zealand number two Chris McCutcheon, and resident American driver 81A Ricky Logan, says Roger.
Roger says to set the grid on the 30-lap midget feature; the last race of the night, the fastest driver will start at the back, which is an interesting concept.
“You know who your closest rival is and you don’t want them starting up front do you.”
The top qualifier will get to choose who starts beside them and that person will then decide who starts in front of them.
“We’ve run this format in the midget and sprint car class a couple of times this season already.
“It’s an awesome spectacle for the public to see a fast car move through the field after starting at the back of the grid.”
