One person is believed to be trapped in a car after a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 2 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Emergency services are at the scene of the crash on the highway east of Stanley Road between Taneatua and Waimana.

Taneatua and Whakatane Fire Brigades have also been called to the crash, which happened just before 3pm.
There are reports of one car being upside down in a paddock.
