Waitaha Road to reopen

Waitaha Road in Welcome Bay will reopen this Friday as work on the wastewater upgrade progresses.

Tauranga City Council contractors are currently installing new holding tanks on the road as part of the upgrade.

As part of the upgrade Welcome Bay Road between Waitaha Road and the shopping centre will be closed from Saturday, April 28 and Monday, April 30 while a new sewer pipe is laid.

Detours will be in place through Waitaha Road, James Cook Drive and Village Park Drive.

Access to businesses in the area will be maintained at all times and the road is expected to reopen at 6am on Monday.
