Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a number of items recovered from burglaries and thefts in Tauranga.

The items including a handbag, camera, jewelry and cards were stolen in a number of burglaries and thefts from vehicles.

Items recovered by police include an iPod, woman’s watch and gold clock.

Detective Peter Farrell says the items were recovered by police late last week.

“The items have been stolen and recovered by police.”

Among the recovered items is a black bag with the logo Insight Vacations.

Peter says inside the black bag was a Samsung digital camera in a blue camera case.

On the camera are photos of three men, who Peter believes are the victims of theft.

“The photos have been recovered from deleted items on the camera. We don’t have any dates though. Those three persons I believe to be the victims, and the owners of the camera.”

He would like to speak with anyone who recognises the three men in the photos, or are the three men.

“I would like anybody who recognises any of the items or the people in these photos to contact me.”

Also recovered is a black jewelery box containing a number of items including distinct brooches.

A black and white polkadot carry bag was recovered containing a gold clock, woman’s watch, iPod and Bright Ideas packet.

Another bag, a brown leather satchel with a shoulder strap, was found containing a necklace with a white stone, and various business cards.

“There is also a ticket that two adults used to go on a gold mine tour in Australia, and a ticket for one adult to go on a steam paddle ship in Australia.”

Anyone with information on the items or who they belong to are asked to contact Peter on 07 541 2758.
