Surveying career in sight

Matthew Dearsly is the recipient of a $1000 scholarship from the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors (NZIS) Rotorua/Bay of Plenty branch.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a student undertaking their first year in a full-time Bachelor of Surveying degree at the University of Otago or the National Diploma in Surveying offered at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnec or at Unitec.

Matthew will be studying at the University of Otago.

“We were impressed with his academic record and outstanding character references,” says Michael Dewhirst of the Rotorua/Bay of Plenty Branch of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors.

“We are confident that Matthew will put in the hard work required and emerge an excellent surveyor and a valued member of the surveying profession.

“We wish him well with his studies.”
