Salvors working on the Rena wreck are focusing their efforts today on removing bundles of timber from containers on the bow section so they can be airlifted off by helicopter.
They are also working on securing hatch covers on the bow section which had been observed moving with the swell late last week.

Salvors also expect to begin installing scaffolding to assist with the removal of the content of the remaining refrigerated containers on the deck of the bow section.
No dive operations were undertaken yesterday due to the swell, but Maritime New Zealand hopes divers will be able to resume inspecting the stern section today.
Wind and swell conditions are forecast to ease and remain good until Friday.
he total number of containers now removed from the wreck by salvors and received by Braemar Howells is 479.
A further 70 have been recovered from the sea and beaches also, making a total of 549 handled by the container salvage contractor.
There were originally 1368 containers onboard the vessel when it ran aground on the Astrolabe Reef at about 2.20am on October 5.
Motiti Island is featuring in Maritime New Zealand response efforts over the next two days with a survey of its beach line for oil and debris contamination to be conducted.
A heli-lifting operation to transport debris off Matakana Island is due to happen on Thursday.
