Police searching for a man involved in a violent weekend domestic incident are seeking the public’s help in locating the alleged offender who they believe may be in the Bay of Plenty area.

A 12 week dispute between Affco and the New Zealand Meat Workers Union is over.
The two parties settled on a new collective agreement at 5am today with workers set to return to work and payroll.
Meat workers march through the main street in Te Puke on Saturday in protest of the lock out.

A young Tauranga man got quite a shock when he stood on a stingray barb while on an educational fieldtrip on Motuhoa Island on Monday.
The 17-year-old was on the island in Tauranga Harbour on Monday afternoon when he stepped on an old stingray barb which penetrated his foot.

Police are investigating the burglaries of two Tauranga schools in which large amounts of electronic and computer equipment was taken.
Tauranga Girls’ College was broken into on Friday night and Tauranga Intermediate suffered the theft of a large amount of electronic and computer equipment on Sunday night.

A training day for Omanu lifeguards quickly turned real when they were called to assist three people who found themselves in troubled water off the coast of Mount Maunganui on Sunday.

The Skyhawk fighter jet has arrived at its new home of Classic Flyers in Mount Maunganui this afternoon.

Drivers are being advised to expect delays as work to resurface Oropi Road between Chadwick Road and Greerton Park started this morning.
A temporary 30km/h speed limit is in place and drivers are advised to use an alternative route if possible.
