Time is running out for Maketu residents eligible to vote in their community ward by-election to ensure voting papers get sent to them in the mail.

The electoral rolls for the Western Bay of Plenty District Council Maketu Community Board by-election close on December 22.
“Only those people who are correctly enrolled by the time the electoral roll has closed will get voting papers in the mail to vote in the Maketu Community by-election,” says registrar of electors Lesley Christophers.
There are currently about 700 Waiariki and Rotorua electors enrolled to vote in the Maketu Community Board by-election.
