Running New Zealand spokesperson Beverly Lockhart says Jup will be welcomed by a group of runners who will jog five kilometres with him along to the Mount Surf Club, with a barbeque afterwards.

'This fun run has been kindly organised by Craigs Investment Partners, with 100 per cent of each $10 entry fee being donated to the Stroke Foundation.
'Jup's national run has a strong place in Tauranga, where some of his key sponsors and support crew are based.”

Beverly says Tauranga's Guardian Self Storage and Truck Rentals are one of Jup's major sponsors, having supplied him with one of their vans to use as his support vehicle for his journey of New Zealand.
'Please head along to Moa Park and Mount Surf Club on Thursday to chat with this ordinary kiwi bloke and his local team mates about this extraordinary adventure.

'Jup has battled the elements, traffic and injury in his time on the road from Stewart Island, through the South Island and now heading up the North Island.

Beverly says by the time he gets to Tauranga he will have run 2200 kilometres, with 700 kilometres to go.
