An upcoming information day at Toi Ohomai is set to help people in the community to achieve their New Year aspirations.

The event promises to highlight all of the study options available in our own backyard.

'From people looking to make the most of their NCEA results, to those seeking a career change, our free Information Day on Friday, February 9 from 3-6pm will have something for everyone, at a time everyone can attend” says, Toi Ohomai events and corporate activities coordinator Nikki Hansen.

'Health, business, trades and the arts, I think people will be surprised of the range of courses we offer right here in the Bay of Plenty.”

Nikki says staff will be on-hand to talk over the criteria of those looking to take advantage of the government's offer of one year free tertiary study.

Students will also be able to enrol on the spot, should they find the study option best suited to their personal career goals, she says.

Other features of the afternoon include an exclusive sneak-peak inside student life, campus tours, details on university study pathways, and the ability to ask the institute's expert tutors and heads of department all the questions you need to know face-to-face.

'It's easy to have questions or see barriers to study when you are sitting at home,” says Nikki.

'However, this exciting event will provide all the answers and show you how we can remove those barriers, live in one location, including providing details on how our fantastic student support services can help you to succeed.

'With over 14,000 students, Toi Ohomai is proudly the largest tertiary institute in our region.

'Regardless of if you are looking for foundation skills or an industry-recognised degree, diploma or short-course to boost your career potential, it is an exciting environment to learn in. Come be a part of it.”

The information day is on Friday, February 9, from 3pm-6pm at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology Windermere Campus, 70 Windermere Drive, Tauranga.
