Mount Maunganui-based premium pet food manufacturer Ziwi has received four prestigious international awards for its unique air dried dog and cat food.

American magazine Pet Age recognised two of Ziwi's products in its inaugural Readers' Choice Awards.

Ziwi Peak Blue Mackerel and Lamb recipe for cats was voted as one of the best products of the year for its unique blend of wild New Zealand Blue Mackerel and free range grass fed lamb combined with New Zealand Green Mussel.

Ziwi Good Dog Rewards which includes a range of lamb, venison and beef air dried treats topped the Dog Chews and Treats category.

Ziwi has also received recognition from notable USA retail and veterinarian magazine, Pet Business.

Ziwi Peak Mackerel & Lamb for dogs and cats scooped the 2017 Pet Business Industry Recognition Award. The industry awards, now in their 16th year, recognise innovation and ground-breaking products that are driving growth in the pet speciality channel.

Adding to the list of ‘New Year' honours is international pet business magazine Pet Product News, which has announced that Ziwi Mackerel & Lamb has won the Editors' Choice Awards in the Dog and Cat category.

Ziwi's general manager of marketing Michael Dance says these latest four awards continue a strong run of results for Ziwi as the brand makes major headway into the massive USA market.

'Our Mackerel & Lamb range has featured prominently in a number of international awards joining earlier wins which include a Finalist nomination for the Pet Product News Editor's Choice Award 2017, Dog Food Advisor's 5 star rating and Best New Cat Product 2017 at UK trade show, PATS Sandown.
