Tauranga Police and Land Search and Rescue teams from Tauranga, Waihi and Paeroa are currently searching for a 35-year-old woman missing in the north end of the Kaimai Ranges.

Sheree Tuahuru of Katikati informed her partner that she was going to walk to the Ananui Falls off Woodland Road yesterday at 11am.

Police were alerted that she was overdue just after midnight this morning.

Sheree was not prepared to be in the bush overnight.

Tauranga Police are asking any trampers who were in the area or at the Waitawheta Hut in the past 24 hours to contact Sergeant Craig Madden on 07 577 4300.
