Man arrested following Mount stabbing

UPDATED 8.23PM: A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Mount Maunganui.

Police responded to stabbing reports on Nikau Crescent around 6.30pm.

A police spokesperson says officers have taken a man into custody.

"A knife has been recovered and a woman suffered a moderate injury."

A reporter at the scene says the stabbing appears to have resulted from an altercation between two homeless people.

EARLIER:

Police are currently attending reports of a stabbing in Mount Maunganui.

Police have said the report came in around 6:25pm this evening, and officers are currently investigating the incident.

Police are also in attendance at a robbery in a Mount mini-market, however the two incidents are not related.

what a great life these BLUDGERS have, a settee, a carton and bed by the looks, TCC should move them on and tidy it up. if this was someone else it would be, (BUT) it is not. it appears they can do what they like and everybody is scared of them,me tinks,(and only my thoughts on this ) is tell them to go else where, but not there,Thankyou Sunlive, 10-4 out. phew.

It was an argument over the cutting up of the pie nicked from the mini mart.
