Woman killed in SH2 crash named

Police continue to investigate the cause of a crash which killed an 84-year-old woman on Sunday.

Dorothy Gloria Williams, from Te Puna, died in a crash on State Highway 2, near Whakamarama.

Emergency services were called to the scene around 3pm.

The crash closed the highway for several hours and it was re-opened at about 11pm.

“Police express their sympathies to her family,” police say in a statement released overnight.

“The Serious Crash Unit continues its investigation into the incident.”
