Devonport came to life with lots of tinsel, lights and Christmas cheer for annual Trustpower Christmas Parade.

With amazing new floats, a host of well-known cartoon and movie characters, entertainment, music and, of course, a jolly Santa Tauranga locals has a blast at the fourth Downtown Tauranga parade.

This year there was a new float for Santa and a Disney princess float, as well as the family favourites, such as Frozen, Mad Hatter Tea Party and the Batman float.

The entertainment included Santa and a host of characters down at the Edgewater Fan post parade and the Little Entertainment Company had some carnival fun down by the waterfront with bouncy castles, shaved ice and other treats.

The Trustpower Christmas Parade started at 11am today and ran from Devonport Road (starting at Second Avenue) down to the Harington Street intersection on The Strand. The waterfront entertainment ran until 2pm.
