Police chase captured on camera

A police chase from Te Puke through to Papamoa overnight has been caught on camera.

A police spokesperson says officers attempted to stop a vehicle on Te Puke Highway at about 9pm.

The vehicle failed to stop and a chase ensued.

On Facebook, people reported the vehicle was seen reaching speeds of around 200km/h.

Another Facebook post says the vehicle was seen fleeing from police down Dickson Road, Pacific View Road, Parton Road, Domain Road and Sandhurst Drive.

Footage supplied to SunLive shows the vehicle evaded police in Papamoa. Watch the video above.

A police spokesperson says at about 9.20pm, the driver came to a stop in Range Rd.

'The occupants ran from the vehicle. Police are making enquiries in the area to locate the occupants."
