Curate Music, previously Mosaic, are celebrating after winning a Tui Award for Best Worship Artist in the 2017 Vodafone NZ Music Awards with their second album ‘These Eyes'.

Released in March 2017, the album, recorded at Roundhead Studios in Auckland, is a compilation of original songs written by members of the band.

The 2017 New Zealand Music Awards, held at Auckland's Spark Arena, was the 52nd holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical recording artists based in or originating from New Zealand. The awards are for excellence in New Zealand music.

Vocalist and guitarist for the band Si Hayward believes music can minister wholeness to people's lives.

'Music has the ability to speak into the soul,” says Si. 'It can heal brokenness, bring hope and beauty and if this album has been able to do that for people then that's great.”

In November 2014, the Mount Maunganui band Curate Music won the Tui Award for Best Gospel Christian Album category at the 2014 NZ Vodafone Music Awards. Within 24 hours of its release in April 2014, the album ‘You Surround' went straight to number one on the NZ iTunes worship chart and third in the Top 40 charts for all genres.

In February 2016, Mosaic church changed its name to Curate. Based at Mount Maunganui and Whakatane the church has a huge creative community made up of around 40 musicians and singers.

The musicians who play on their latest album are Si Hayward (vocals/guitars), Kelly Hayward (keys), Josh Turner (vocals/guitar), Linden Cunningham (bass), Steve Fruish (drums), Adam McNeilly (guitars), Georgia Lines (vocals), Antony Jeffares (Vocals/Synth), Paul Jackson (Keys) and Kelly McNamara (guitars).

'As a worship album, ‘These Eyes' puts language to the things in which we care most about,” says Si.

The songs are fresh and inspiring, with a soundscape of lyrics and melody that are a response of faith and commitment to God, encouraging listeners to connect with a God of grace. The band hope the songs will become anchors to help people hold onto their faith when times are dark, difficult and confusing.

These Eyes is available on Spotify, iTUNES, Apple Music and You Tube.
