Overnight closure on State Highway 2

Motorists should delay travel if possible or allow extra time for their journey.

The New Zealand Transport Agency is advising road users of a short overnight detour near the Pekatahi Bridge on State Highway 2 in the Eastern Bay of Plenty tonight.

The bridge will be closed from around 7pm until midnight on Wednesday November 15, weather permitting, while some inspection work takes place.

The detour route will be signposted and is expected to add an extra 20 minutes to motorists' travel times.

'Resurfacing work was scheduled to take place overnight this week, however that has now been postponed until early next year,” says NZTA.

'The Transport Agency would like to apologise for any inconvenience this change in plans has caused.”

NZTA advises motorists to delay travel if possible, or allow extra time for their journey.
