Smoke spotted from truck on SH29

Emergency services are making their way to the scene

UPDATED 1.10pm: A truck reported on fire on SH29 was overheating with no sign of fire found when fire fighters arrived at the scene.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a reported truck fire on State Highway 29 about 12.20pm.

Fire and Emergency NZ northen communications centre shift manager Megan Ruru says the truck overheated.

Earlier:

A caller to the 0800 SUNLIVE news hotline says it appears smoke is coming from a truck on SH29, between Old Kaimai Rd and Valley View Rd.

Fire services are currently on the scene.
