Police are asking for information regarding the aggravated robbery where cash was stolen at a Bethlehem store.

On Friday, October 6 at 1.20 pm, two men entered the TAB store at the Bethlehem Shops on State Highway 2.

The offenders, believed to be in possession of a firearm, robbed the staff of a small amount of cash.

They fled in a white-coloured 1993 Nissan Sentra, registration number SB330, which was stolen from the front of the store and it is yet to be located.

"No one was injured during the incident, but those at the scene were left traumatised and are receiving support," say Police.

Tauranga Police would like to speak to anyone who may be able to identify the two men in the attached images.

"The offenders were in their late twenties or early thirties.

"At the time of the incident, one was wearing light-coloured shorts and sports shoes, with a light-coloured peaked cap under a black and grey hoodie.

"The second offender was wearing dark trousers and gumboots, with a grey hoodie. He also had a dark jersey tied over his shoulders and head."

As well as seeking any information on the men in the photos, Police would also like to hear of any sightings of the stolen Nissan Sentra.

Tauranga Police Station can be reached on 07 577 4300.

Safe bet alright. It will be like tracking a bleeding camel across white sand.

I can't help wondering how long it takes for people to realize that there is nowhere to run to. We live on an island. The amount they got away with wouldn't even pay their fare to Ozzie. There is no way that the reward they got justifies the risk they took. Two young men who will end up with a criminal record, for what? Stupidity is always sad.

One problem with the camera shots.

They all look DOWN on the ratbags who ware hoddies and caps. The owners of such premises need to install high definition "hidden" cameras that look directly upwards and into the face of the persons standing in front of the till.

Due diligence

I guess they are incapable of figuring out that even if they only got paid the minimum wage for washing dishes, they would be several times wealthier than a reasonably (sic) successful thief.
