Another fine day in Tauranga

Video and photos by Rosalie Liddle Crawford.

The weather forecast today is for a fine day with light breezes. It's a three-clothing layer day with a high of 17 and an overnight low of 8 degrees.

Low tide is at 12.40pm and high tide is at 6.50pm. Sunset tonight is at 6.06pm.

This day in NZ history in 1954 the Mazengarb report was released. The Mazengarb inquiry into ‘juvenile delinquency' blamed the perceived promiscuity of the nation's youth on working mothers, the ready availability of contraceptives, and young women enticing men to have sex.

The report, sent to every New Zealand home, blamed lack of parental supervision for juvenile delinquency and advocated a return to Christianity and traditional values. The report provoked public outrage.

A quote for today from Winnie-the-Pooh (A. A. Milne) - "You are braver than you believe, smarter than you seem, and stronger than you think."

I loved the view of Shark Alley, the memory of the Mazengarb report, and being one of those juvenile delinquents who told the 'Authorities' to " stick it" Confirmity is for sheep, who have been dagged and shorn. There's some words of wisdom from Winnie the Pooh, as well, HEAPS BETTER than the 3 yearly clap trap we get from the wannabee politico's. May he results come soon, so we know who to protest to
