Two people who have been trying to lure young girls into a white van are being sought by police.

Yesterday, police received two separate complaints, similar in nature concerning the activities of the occupants of a white van, says area prevention manager Inspector Stuart Nightingale.

At 3.15pm, a white van pulled up alongside an eight-year-old girl walking home from school on Pukehangi Road in Rotorua.

'A passenger tried to entice this girl into their van,” says Stuart. 'The driver was described as a European man, aged about 45-50 years, the passenger being a male European, aged about 18 years.”

At 3.30pm, a similar van stopped alongside two 11-year-old girls on Ford Road also walking home from school. There was a further attempt to entice these girls into the van.

'No one was hurt in either of these incidents, but police hold significant concerns as to the behaviours and intentions of the occupants of this white van,” says Stuart.

'It is described as having tinted rear windows and a black stripe or stripes running along the length of the van.”

Rotorua Police are seeking information from the public to the lead to the identification of two persons who have been attempting to lure young females into their vehicle.

The public are urged to be vigilant as to these reports and to provide any information to the Rotorua Police, 111 if urgent or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.

To take photos of anyone doing suspicious stuff like that... then run away and give the pics to their parents or the police...

Sounds like that muppet who comments on here, endlessly, on every story. He admitted on one story approaching children to get their views on his 3D printer, for his constantly changing museum, attached to his basement aquarium complete with its seawater tunnel. Maybe he's at it again. Sunlive should report him. It all seems to fit. We all know the one.
