Tickets for the Taupo Summer Concert have sold out in record time after Greenstone Entertainment announced the annual summer concert earlier this month.

All 15,000 tickets for next year's Taupo Summer Concert have sold out for their three date national tour in January 2018.

The demand for tickets is believed to have come from the announcement last week that Alanis Morissette would be one of the singers joining the line-up.

Canadian musician Alanis Morissette hasn't performed in New Zealand for 20 years, since she put on a free concert in Auckland where 15,000 people attended.

Other performers will be George Thorogood and The Destroyers, and Colin Hay of Men at Work fame, who will be rocking concert goers in Queenstown, Taupo and Whitianga in late January.

Tickets are also in high demand for the Queenstown and Whitianga concerts and Greenstone.

Greenstone Entertainment CEO Amanda Calvert says the organisation is blown away by the popularity for next year's artists.

'In its seven year history, this is the first time we have experienced a sell out for one of our shows only one week after announcement.

'It certainly shows our fans love not just the amazing line up of acts we strive to deliver each year, but also the unique afternoon atmosphere and idyllic holiday locations around the country where we're blessed to hold the concerts.

'We want to thank everyone for their ongoing support and encourage those still needing tickets for the Queenstown or Whitianga show to secure them before they too sell out,” she says.

'If you're in the Coromandel, there are also a limited amount of local tickets available for each concert for only $89 plus booking fee.”

The local tickets outlets are: Whitianga:i-site Whitianga, Pauanui Info Centre, Info Plus Whangamata
